Official Course Description:
The lab/research project course can be performed in any chemical science at Jacobs University and must be approved by the instructor of record. This includes research in the following areas offered at Jacobs University: chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, computational chemistry and biochemistry, analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry, polymer chemistry, nanoscience, chemical physics, biochemistry, geochemistry, biochemical engineering, and biophysical chemistry. This course can be carried out by attending an advanced laboratory course in the respective areas (note prerequisites) or by working in a research group at Jacobs University with work times being individually scheduled. In the latter case, it is the responsibility of the student to find a supervisor for his/her research project. Typically, the student fulfills the requirements by working for one semester in the same research group.
